Principal Electronics Engineer - Military Veterans

Northrop Grumman Mission System Field Engineering is seeking an Electronics Engineers with experience in RF and digital testing. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about monitoring and supporting product technical performance and aggressive about maintaining product delivery schedules. The RF Test Engineer will work at the FRCSE Radar Repair Depot at NAS Jacksonville, FL, and will support the testing, troubleshooting and repair of Airborne Prime Mission hardware. Activities will range from hands-on testing; to analysis of failure trends, root cause/ corrective actions; and attending program meetings to report yields, problems, and corrective actions. Initial training/product familiarization will take place in Baltimore MD on a temporary basis prior to relocating to Jacksonville. The length of the temporary assignment in Baltimore will be determined by previous experience and ability to quickly adapt that experience to this new equipment and process.

The RF Test Engineer will:
  • Direct customer (Prime and USG) daily interface
  • Provide on-the-job training for artisans
  • Technical interface with the OEM engineering
  • Design, develop, and implement testing methods including test equipment needs
  • Troubleshoot and support RF hardware
  • Analyze test data and identify early trends
  • Compile data and define changes required in testing equipment, testing procedures, or new testing requirements
  • Collaborate with design engineering to develop and implement hardware improvements and solutions
  • Monitor product yields and aggressively work to maintain program yield targets
  • Collaborate with OEM engineering in developing root cause and corrective actions
  • Attend program meetings to report yield issues, yield detractor investigation finding, and corrective actions
  • Interface with Depot and LM management, Depot technicians, Depot and LM engineers, design engineers, system engineers, program management and program support teams
  • Relocation funding to FRCSE Jacksonville Florida may be available
The preferred candidate will have analytical skills to review requirements, test plans, and test scenarios; and the ability to effectively communicate across teams. He/she should also be self-directed, organized, team oriented and have previous experience with MS Office tools.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelors of Science degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or other STEM Field and 5 years of related experience; 3 years' experience with an MS degree.
  • Experience with RF test equipment (scopes, power meter, spectrum analyzer, signal generator)
  • Familiarity with basic concepts of RF circuit design and troubleshooting
  • Effective Communication skills
  • Active US Secret clearance is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with automated testing
  • Familiarity with test planning and test scenario development
  • Experience with requirement analysis
  • Experience with Root Cause Correct Action investigations.
  • Circuit card assembly (CCA) level test experience
