Raymond Handling Solutions currently has an opening for a Shop Apprentice to join their winning Service Team! The primary objectives of the Shop Service Apprentice program is to (1) locate and hire persons interested in a technical career who do not have any job-specific skills at present, but who have related skills, training, education or interest, and (2) to prepare applicants for eventual status as a Shop Service Technician, usually after a three to six month apprenticeship period.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Learn to perform repairs and troubleshooting tasks under direction of Shop Service Technicians and Technical Trainers.
  • Assist technicians with minor repairs.
  • Attend training classes as assigned.
  • Complete daily time cards.
  • Maintain a clean, neat and professional appearance at all times.
  • Maintain an acceptable driving records as established by the company's insurance carrier.
  • Willing to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime as necessary.
  • Represent the entire company at all times.
  • Report all accidents to supervisor.
  • Must follow all safety procedures and use good judgment in regards to safety.
  • Perform other specific duties and projects as assigned by the Rental/Shop Supervisor or Manager.
  • Deliver and receive parts when needed.
  • Keep Shop Department clean and organized.
  • Miscellaneous jobs as needed.

  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to varying workloads and environments.
  • Willing to comply with employee handbook and Shop Department policies.
  • Willing and motivated to continue education and sills.
  • Willing to assume responsibility.
  • Must be able to drive a motor vehicle.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job function in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.


High school diploma or general education degree (GED). One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
