Job Summary:

 

The Radiology Technician operates diagnostic radiology examinations utilizing equipment in various modes and techniques to locate, evaluate and record pertinent anatomical, pathological and functional data. The variety of technical procedures require rational independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in performing radiology procedures with basic departmental functions and goals.

The position's tasks and responsibilities include:

  • You will operate x-ray equipment to make radiographs of designated portions of the body.
  • You will explain procedures to patients and addresses their concerns.
  • You will position patients utilizing immobilization devices.
  • You will operate all assigned stationary and/or portable radiography equipment.
  • You will perform CT examinations under the Radiologist’s supervision.
  • You will practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient and staff.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited program for Radiographers
  • ARRT Certification (or registry eligible) Must obtain registration within 12 months of hire
  • Current Kentucky licensure or permit to practice medical imagining
  • New employees have up to 90 days from date of hire to obtain the American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare provider.
  • Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 lbs
