The HVAC Mechanic promotes a professional and comfortable atmosphere for all customers by providing assistance to Maintenance Mechanic II for all physical plant and facility assets as directed

  • Protects the asset value of facility and plant equipment
  • Assists in controlling and maintaining the materials inventory, records, and logs
  • Protects the asset value of facility and equipment by performing preventive maintenance and repairs to physical structures and equipment on the campus including ceilings, light bulbs, walls, doors, windows, floors, beds and miscellaneous non-patient care equipment;
  • Protects the asset value of all equipment by assisting with preventive maintenance for ice machines, HVAC equipment, exhaust fans, Batteries, and testing of equipment.
  • Plumbing; pumps, water softeners, and water treatment;
  • Assist with Controls; analog, digital, pneumatic and electrical;
  • Assists the Plant Operator in the operation of fixed plant equipment by performing daily building and equipment checks and recording status of equipment including: chillers, boilers, air handlers, pumps and water treatment equipment;
  • Protects the asset value of all facility systems by performing preventive maintenance to all fire systems and alarm systems;
  • Assists in controlling and maintaining the materials inventory by informing
  • Manager of material usage, low inventory levels, and following established stocking procedures;
  • Contributes to department performance by initiating ideas for department improvements;
  • Help customers by responding to and referring service requests


  • High School Diploma/GED or Technical/vocational training
  • 1 – 2 years general trade experience in healthcare setting preferred
  • Communications and computer skills
