SCHEDULE: 1.0 FTE (40 hours per week) SHIFT: Evenings with rotating weekends.

 

POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides skilled perioperative nursing care to patients according to their individual needs and supervises associated personnel in related activities. Carries out the functions that will assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient under the direction or supervision of the surgeon. Assists with surgical procedures in the scrub and circulating roles and supervises non-professional personnel in these areas. Assists in maintaining a safe aseptic environment. Performs within the scope and licensure of an RNFA and in accordance with hospital policies. The RNFA supports the mission, philosophy and goals of the Good Samaritan Hospital.

Qualifications

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:  Two years operating room experience.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:    

Minimum: Current California Registered Nurse License. Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification. Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)

Preferred: Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CNRFA) 

 

 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum:  Bachelor's Degree in Nursing. Completion of accredited course in RN First Assisting with completion of clinical portion.
