Requisition Number: 2018 - 270 Business Unit: College of Medicine Department: Int Med Oncology/Hematology 50000591 Reg-Temp: Full-Time Regular Position Summary: GENERAL ONCOLOGIST WITH MELANOMA SPECIALIZATION FACULTY OPPORTUNITY The Division of Oncology/Hematology, Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center ( UNMC ) in Omaha, Nebraska is seeking to recruit general oncologist with an interest in sub-specialization in melanoma in clinical care and research for part of the clinical time. This position is 100% clinical with a 5/8ths position at the Omaha VA Medical Center and 3/8ths position at UNMC /NM. Clinicians interested in this position must be board certified in internal medicine and be board certified/eligible in medical oncology and/or hematology and possess a strong background in both clinical and translational research. Candidates should be devoted to clinical care and clinical investigation within this diverse area. This position may be J-1 eligible. Responsibilities will involve participation in multidisciplinary patient care teams, inpatient treatment, outpatient care, clinical trials and opportunities for collaboration for investigator initiated clinical research and grants. The teaching of this specialization to fellows, residents and medical students is required as well. UNMC's Oncology/Hematology Division is a component of the NCI -Designated Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center which is a matrix cancer center with collaboration of the University of Nebraska Medical Center and Nebraska Medicine. The new state-of-the-art 615,000 square foot cancer facility, which opened in May 2017, is designed to allow science, medicine and healing to share not just a common space, but also a common goal. The facility includes 98 labs dedicated to cancer research, 108 inpatient beds as well as a multidisciplinary outpatient area for physicians, clinics, infusion, radiation oncology, surgery, radiology, pharmacology and collaborative treatment/diagnostics.
