Position Overview:

The Respiratory Therapist (RT) is to provide specialized respiratory therapy skills and services to our adult, pediatric, and neonatal patient populations including: bronchodilator therapy, oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, chest percussion, and various diagnostic services.  The respiratory therapist is also a teaching / information resource for patients, patient families, nursing staff, and medical staff.



Qualifications:

Possession of a valid California License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP).  Current CPR required.  NRP to be obtained within three months of employment and thereafter maintained.  May require ACLS, PALS.  Graduate of a School of Respiratory Therapy recognized by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC) qualifying graduates to take exams to become a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).  Experience in an acute care hospital with experience in Adult Intensive Care, Cardiovascular Unit, and/or Pediatric Intensive Care, and/or Neonatal Intensive Care is highly desirable.
