Overview

GD-OTS is looking for a Sr. Manufacturing Engineer-Technology to join our Lincoln, NE research and development organization. We are expanding rapidly and looking for motivated and creative individuals who want to help support and shape this organization as we grow.

GD-OTS provides reliable and affordable composite products to the defense and commercial aerospace markets. With more than 50 years of expertise, General Dynamics designs, develops, manufactures and tests a full range of composite missile and space structures, including rocket motors, pressure vessels, launch tubes and fuel tanks.



Responsibilities

  • Indirect support of manufacturing floor machining and inspection functions through technology introduction, development, and integration to support Operations and Engineering needs.
  • Direct support of manufacturing floor machining and inspection operations by programming CNC and/or CMM or other inspection equipment and work directly with production operators fabricate or inspect hardware.
  • Participate with or lead teams to develop systems of integration for NC/CMM program transfer, control, and machining & inspection data collection.
  • Process definition and refinement by using analytical methods.
  • Writing and revising manufacturing instructions, setup sheets, and NC/CMM programs.
  • Interfacing with other functional groups, including; Quality Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, and Operations.
  • Interaction with customers/suppliers, continuous improvement activities and root cause corrective action (RCCA) support


Qualifications

The candidate will possess a minimum Bachelor of Science in Engineering or other technical field. Require 5+ years of experience in a related field. Proficiency with CAD modelling, MS Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook and experience in CNC machine programming is required. Must be able to demonstrate a high level of understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).

In addition, strong verbal and written communication skills are essential. The ability to work in a team environment is critical.
