The CARE Initiative Coordinator is a grant funded position. You will manage the CARE Initiative in the Emergency Department by ensuring al terms are met under the Memorial Health’s HIV/HCV grant from Gilead Sciences.

 
What you will do in this role:
  • You will provide oversight of day-to-day operations for screening, testing, and coordination of linkage/retention to care for newly identified HIV/HCV patients. HIV testing will follow the most recent U.S. Preventative Task Force guidelines for HIV (Grade A) and HCV (Grade B) recommendations. HIV screening and testing will be open to ages 13 and above, HCV will focus on ages 18 and above.
  • You will work with the Emergency Department Director and Manager in the development of programmatic protocols. You will oversee logistical planning for service coordination among Memorial Health, Chatham County Health Department, and Gilead Sciences.
  • You will supervise, coordinate, and optimize the functioning of the CARE Initiative at Memorial Health Emergency Department. 

Qualifications

What qualifications you will need:
  • You must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Nursing, Health Sciences, Epidemiology, Biology, Biostatistics, Sociology, Psychology, or related discipline. Master’s Degree is preferred.
  • You must have a Project Management Professional Certification or Lean/Six Sigma Certification.
  • Completion of a Rapid HIV Testing Course and/or a Venipuncture/Phlebotomy Certification is preferred.
  • You must have 2 years in a team leader role and 2 years of professional-level research experience or equivalent combination of experience, education and training.  
  • You must have knowledge of medical terminology and diagnostic testing methods.
  • Electronic Medical Records (EPIC) skills preferred.
