As the 2 Central Manager you will maintain 24-hour accountability for the supervision, coordination and evaluation of activities of the staff of the medical surgical/telemetry nursing unit: 2 Central. You will ensure patient needs are met in accordance with instructions of physicians and the Hospital policy and procedures. You will coordinate the organizational improvement activities of the nursing unit, oversee the development, review and revision of policies, procedures and practices guidelines.  You will assists the Director in overseeing the financial operation of the department.  You will maintain knowledge of current practice standards with regards to care of the medical-surgical/telemetry.
  • You will provide leadership along with the director, integrate department services with the hospital's primary functions.
  • You will oversee and review the development of monthly schedules.
  • You will collaborate with the department director, house supervisor and CNO or their designee regarding staffing issues.
  • You will ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of paperwork for patient and employee Occurrence Reports.
  • You will contribute to the recruitment efforts. 
  • You will collaborate and communicate with other health care providers outside the hospital to promote continuity of care for the patient/ family/ caregivers by providing information to primary physician, home care, and inpatient settings, multi-specialty physicians, advance practice nurses, pharmacists, social workers, nutritionists, and physical therapists, etc.
  • You will demonstrate understanding of HCA’s and “Patients First” safety initiative by strict compliance to all safety protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

Experience:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Registered Nurse, 2 years management experience required
  • Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Experience preferred
Education
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a BSN required
  • Master's in Nursing preferred
Licensure
  • Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
  • BLS required
  • ACLS preferred
