Director of Cardiovascular Services

  

The Director of Cardiovascular Services will partner with the leadership team of Medical City Heart Hospital, to build and develop the Cath Lab program at Navarro Regional Hospital.

 

Navarro Regional Hospital is a 162 bed community healthcare provider located in Corsicana, Texas.  It is an acute care facility with inpatient and outpatient care, diagnostic imaging, emergency department, medical and surgical care, wound care and a Sleep Study Center. We offer cardiac rehab, physical and speech therapy, an outpatient surgery center, digital mammography, and a 64-slice CT scanner.

Job Summary:
 

The Director Cardiovascular Services is responsible for all departmental functions in support of the hospital mission, vision and facility goals. The Director plans, directs, and coordinates administrative activities of Cardiac Services, including the Cardiac Cath Lab, Recovery of the Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, and daily department operations of cardiac services within Navarro Regional Hospital. This position establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies, including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. The Director works closely with cardiovascular physician leadership to execute operational improvement opportunities. Through continuous customer satisfaction data review, rounding on patients, and interacting and evaluating employees, the Director problem-solves issues identified.  The Director is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating, and controlling the unit operations, personnel, and patient care.  The Director accepts 24 hour responsibility for the unit and is accountable for the nursing management of the unit.  The Director assures delivery of quality care for the well-being of all patients and maintains a positive clinical environment to promote cohesiveness within the unit, and the hospital organization.    

                                                                                                                                                                                                        

The Director identifies the cost-effective systems needed to support the business of the department taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. This position assists administration in recommendation and evaluation of capital equipment, supplies, operational efficiencies, new technology and process modifications.  The Director works with Senior Leadership in meeting facility goals.                                                                                                                                                                                                              


The Director of Cardiovascular Services actively participates in hospital committees, demonstrating ethical and appropriate behavior for the clinical environment.  This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer at Navarro Regional Hospital for daily operations and nursing related issues.  In addition the Director reports to Leadership team at Medical City Heart & Spine for further operational support.  The Director will also provide direct patient care when indicated.  The Director of Cardiovascular Services demonstrates leadership style that supports and directs the staff while fostering participative, autonomous and achievement oriented behavior.


Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor degree in Nursing.
  • 2 years acute care hospital management experience to include management of personnel, payroll, budget, capital, business planning, marketing, physician relations, and management of supervisory positions
  • 5 years management experience strongly preferred

 

Licensure/Certification: 

  • Current Texas RN license or compact license 
  • Current BLS and ACLS.
