Description
SHIFT: No WeekendsSCHEDULE: Full-time
- Responsible and accountable for nursing care rendered in the department, based on the Nursing Process--assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care.
- Responsible for coordination and integration of intradepartmental services and interdepartmental services, which includes ancillary departments.
- Assures development and implementation of policies and procedures in conjunction with the Medical Director of NICU and the Chairman of Pediatrics.
- Responsible for determination of the qualifications and competence of personnel in the Neonatal Nurseries who provide patient care services and who are not licensed independent practitioners.
- Assures continuous assessment and performance improvement of care and services provided in the Neonatal Nurseries.
- Assures appropriate orientation and in-service training and continuing education of all personnel in the NICU.
Qualifications
- Current Texas licensure with Texas State Board of Nurses
- BSN Required
- At least three years of NICU/Nursery experience and two years of management experience.
- RNC Certification preferred.
- Current BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
- NRP Certification required within six months of hire.
- STABLE Certification preferred.
