The Field Service Engineer is the responsible for providing highly visible onsite and remote technical support. Responsible for handling maintaining, monitoring, installing and providing support for network hardware, software and communication links. Ability to execute service delivery, carry out feasibility exercises, determine connectivity, and prepare detailed, technical and operational documentation. Establish and maintain proper business relationships with customers and peers, participates in complaint investigations, troubleshoot equipment and perform necessary administrative duties.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Basic troubleshooting, installation, maintenance and repair on designated equipment.
  • Conducts Preventative Maintenance (PMs) and field modifications.
  • Manages and maintains stock of inventory, company equipment and documents that are necessary for servicing related activities
  • Maintains tools and test equipment and ensuring they are properly calibrated.
  • Acts as a liaison between the Company and customers on quality and performance of products
  • Utilizes the escalation process to resolve customer service delivery issues.
  • Demonstrates and utilizes critical thinking in assessment of performance and risks associated with installed medical devices
  • Supports Sales Account Managers in field
  • Works with the Manufacturing and Engineering teams while onsite and between service calls to ensure high quality products are designed, manufactured and delivered to customers on-time
  • Works under limited guidance
  • Contributions impact the overall team's objectives
  • Promote the highest levels of customer satisfaction through the timely response of customer inquiries, clear and effective communications, and professional appearances.
  • Adheres to current regulatory requirements to include, but not limited to, HIPPA, OSHA and FDA.

Expected Areas of Competence

  • Network installation and support experience preferred.
  • Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution based service process.
  • Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an easy to understand manner.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, self-directed, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Resourceful, with the ability to work independently.
  • Proficient level of computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record is required

Education/Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or an engineering discipline with computer science or IT experience. Equivalent military experience or relevant science will be considered.
  • 2–5 years of experience in field support, engineering or other customer facing functions related (biomedical or medical field service) capital equipment experience
  • Experience in hospital setting preferred
  • Experience with medical software/systems preferred
  • Operating Room integration preferred

Travel Requirements

  • Up to 80% US Domestic Travel
