Seekinga Fulltime Surgical Technician in theOperating Room at Lankenau Medical Center:

The SurgicalTechnician maintains high standards of patient care as a member of a teamengaged in the conduct of surgical procedures, under the supervision and directionof a Registered Nurse. Responsibilitiesinclude (but are not limited to):

  • Checksinstruments, equipment and supplies for scheduled procedure.

  • Functionsin the scrubbed capacity and enters the operating room suite in sufficient timeto set up instruments and perform all counts prior to the start of surgery.

  • Performssponge, needle and instrument counts with the circulating nurse accurately andaccording to operating room policy and procedure.

  • Maintainssterile technique and reports any breaks in asepsis to the circulating nurse.

  • Assistsin providing physical care, comfort and safety while lifting and positioningpatients by applying principles of proper anatomical alignment.

  • Assistswith the safe transfer of the patient from the OR table to the patient’s bed.

    Schedule:

    Fulltime, 40hours

    Day Shift: 4 10-hour shifts

    Requirements:
    Successful completion of accreditedcourse in Operating Room Technology
    Surgical Technician Certification preferred
    One year recent operating room experience preferred

    Maintains validation of current CPR training
