Raytheon Intelligence and Space (RIS) is seeking a Tactical Communications Systems (TACCOMS) Integration Engineer to join our team in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Long Term Modernization and Sustainment Program (LTM&S) located in Hampton, Virginia, at the customer site on Langley AFB.

This position requires TACCOMS engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in integration of complex communications systems at the scale of a large operations center in a program with global reach. The successful candidate will be part of a small team directly supporting the AOC Production Center (PC). This team integrates TACCOMS into the AOC to meet the system requirements.

The individual will work closely with systems engineers, integrators, testers, and customers to help design, develop and support TACCOMS throughout the modernization and sustainment lifecycle including working in an Agile DevOps framework.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Be aware and learn of future technologies, development plans, schedules, and other details relevant to AOC WS TACCOMS baseline sustainment planning.
  • Contribute from a TACCOMS perspective, structured communications systems data information and integration planning to support the AOC WS.
  • Support various working groups as a SME where baseline changes impact the TACCOMS structure in the AOS WS.
  • Conduct maintenance of a prioritized backlog of TACCOMS projects.
  • Provide integration support for program fielding efforts to accommodate site unique configuration requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate complex TACCOMS software and hardware, resolve conflict issues, and support design/development/integration/maintenance of new software functionality.
  • Enthusiastic and energetic performer able to work in a dynamic, fast paced, and sometimes pressured environment.
The successful candidate will effectively communicate in face-to-face interactions with customers, other contractors, team members, and lateral teams. Must be able to work TACCOMS issues independently, as well as collaborate in a team or working group setting. Domestic and international travel is required with expected travel at less than 10%.

Required Skills:
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance
  • Current Security+ or higher.
  • Demonstrated understanding of TACCOMS technologies and systems relevant to the multi-domain baseline, including networking, computing, storage, and virtualization.
  • Proven successful implementation of interfaces, hardware, software, and input/output parameters of communications systems.
  • Experience in supporting preparation of management-level or technical documentation
Desired Skills:
  • Familiarity with relevant DoD requirements for communications system operations in an integration program.
  • Experience working in an Agile/DevOps environment.
  • Hands-on TACCOMS systems administration experience on at least one relevant AOC baseline system
  • AOC-specific system development, integration, test, certification, or fielding experience.
  • Practical implementation of agile best-practices applied system development or systems integration projects.
  • Participation in agile activities such as sprint planning, scrum, backlog grooming, retrospective, etc.
  • Experience using automation tools and metrics in managing processes.
  • Experience in conducting trade studies.
Required Education:
BS in a STEM discipline with 6 years of related work experience.

This position requires either a U.S. Person or a Non-U.S. Person who is eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization.
