Instructional Designer – Technical Trainer

Currently, ManTech is seeking a motivated, mission-oriented Instructional Designer/Technical Trainer to join our team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing training programs using proven adult learning methodologies and techniques to design and develop engaging learning activities and compelling course content.
  • Ensuring that content enhances retention and knowledge transfer to a team delivering IT services and advanced technical solutions to a diverse group of Intelligence Community customers.
  • Collaborating with subject matter experts to identify audience’s training needs.
  • Creating instructional goals and content that support goals by applying tested instructional design theories, practice, and methods.
  • Creating visual aids (audio, video, simulations, e-learning modules, role plays, games, tests, etc).
  • Facilitating and/or presenting training classes and developing criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.
  • Staying abreast of training and development research: learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques.
  • Evaluating and/or overseeing contractors or vendors to develop and/or administer training programs.
  • Identifying best method of training delivery based upon training needs.
  • Developing course content, design presentations, elements/modules and present training programs for the customer and program employees.
  • Creating student knowledge articles, SOPs, guides and other materials to ensure participants effectively learn presented materials.
  • Communicating with supervisors and managers about new methods and ideas to facilitate future training programs, coach and develop fellow training employees. 
  • Developing customer needs assessments, meet quality standards for services, and evaluates customer satisfaction. 
  • Coordinating with managers and the customer to identify program needs, obtain technical data, and schedule programs.
  • Conducting problem resolution and identify process improvements.
  • Interfacing as needed at multiple levels of management, providing information and thought leadership in technical areas.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field and 5+ years or related experience
  • Five or more years of experience with adult learning techniques and creating lesson plans and curriculum
  • Two or more years of experience managing a Learning Management System
  • Ability to think independently and demonstrates exceptional written and oral communications skills.
  • Ability to perform direct and advisory roles in oversight, planning and implementation of projects and initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training or Instructional Design certification.
  • Experience with content development software such as Captivate and Camtasia.
  • Visual design skills and experience creating storyboards.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Must possess an active TS/SCI with polygraph.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
  • Must be willing to travel CONUS to client locations at least 10% of the time.
  • Repetitive Motions.
