Foreman, Wastewater (Contingency Hire)

With minimal guidance, facilitate the treatment of wastewater for the client by operating the wastewater treatment facility. Supervise Wastewater Treatment Technicians in the performance of their duties. Enforce safety standards and conduct on-the-job-training. Ability to follow technical instructions, establish equipment maintenance schedules and utilize reference material to improve wastewater mission. Must make rapid, appropriate decisions to improve simple to complex problems, keeping safety a priority. Possess understanding of how dissolved oxygen affects plant operation and how to control it. Ability to recognize symptoms of treatment plant upsets (i.e. bulking sludge, high TSS in effluent, low DO levels, and pH changes). Must be able to lift 70 lbs. unassisted, and work in extreme climate, in awkward positions, safely with hazardous chemicals, on day/night shift, and must be able to work independently and in a team environment. Possess understanding of wastewater plant hydraulic and electromechanical techniques and equipment used in the wastewater treatment facility. Mechanical ability to facilitate diagnosis and repair of wastewater treatment equipment; calibrate and maintain in-line instrumentation. Effective computer and communication skills Must interface with other KBR departments to improve the wastewater mission; generate and follow up on material requisitions. Other duties as assigned.

High school diploma with 4+ years of civilian/municipal employment in a wastewater plant or military training in wastewater treatment operations including leadership training. Wastewater Operators Certificate of Competency issued by a state regulatory agency, or two years of course work in wastewater treatment technology preferred.

  • Must be fluent in English
  • Must possess passport book (not passport card) with at least 15 months of remaining validity AND with at least 6 blank visa/stamp pages remaining
  • Must possess driver’s license with at least 6 months of remaining validity
