While reporting to the Shift Manager, you will be responsible for operating all Slitter operator equipment in a safe manner. Excellent attendance is crucial for the team to achieve success. You will have the ability to work with various teams and have a good eye to spot defects in the printed film. You will take pride in your personal hands-on and analytical abilities, organization skills, and attention to detail.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Food Safety and Quality Systems requirements and procedures

  • Job Specific Training

  • EFI database procedures.

  • Machine Operation. i.e. emergency stops, pinch points, danger points.

  • Proper tension setting.

  • Proper lifting techniques. i.e. bending.

  • Reading and understanding of slitting order.

  • Roll conforming.

  • Continuous visual attention required with the Strobe Scope.

  • Proper use of Strobe Scope.

  • Proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Set up & Operate specific Slitting Department Machines, including Master Rewinder /Labeler  according to company procedures & guidelines.

  • Job Order Interpretation Set up and operate Labeler Applicator Machine

  • Verify positioning for label application & die cutting position.

  • Scanning & labeling raw materials & finished goods.

  • Weigh label & wrap finished goods materials.

  • Slit/Rewind material according to specifications and correct unwinds.

  • Check first piece conformance to specifications

  • Perform daily, weekly, monthly & 90 day preventative maintenance duties DTM specified for assigned machines/equipment.

  • Electronic Maintenance Work Orders – Follow MVP Program Procedures

  • Enter data into EFI System – footage/ weight of each roll.

  • Inspect and remove bad product film from rolls.

  • Winds rolls to proper footage and unwind.

  • Proper Splicing needs to be completed.

  • Responsible for quality and safety of set-up and safe operational procedures.

  • Maintain cleanliness of machines /equipment and adjacent work area.

  • Refer difficulties to manager and/or group leader for analysis and /or remedy

  • Communicate pertinent matters of the job with Slitter Operator II from the opposite shift at the beginning and end of the shift.

  • Regular, consistent attendance and punctuality are essential to the job.

  • Follow all safety rules.
