Job Description:
GDIT is seeking a Cyber Security Systems Engineer to provide support on an exciting new Defense Division contract.
NOTE: This position is currently contingent upon contract funding.
In this position, you will be responsible for performing, or reviewing, technical security assessments of computing environments to identify points of vulnerability, non-compliance with established IA standards and regulations, and recommend mitigation strategies. Additionally, you will validate and verify system security requirements definitions and analysis; establish system security designs; design, develop, implement and/or integrate IA and security systems and system components including those for networking, computing, and enclave environments to also include those with multiple enclaves and with differing data protection/classification requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design and develop new systems, applications, and solutions for external customer's enterprise-wide cyber systems and networks
- Build IA into systems deployed to operational environments
- Assist architects and systems developers in the identification and implementation of appropriate information security functionality to ensure uniform application security policy and enterprise solutions
- Enforce the design and implementation of trusted relations among external systems and architectures
- Support the building of security architectures; integrate new architectural features into existing infrastructures; design cyber security architectural artifacts; provide architectural analysis of cyber security features and relates existing system to future needs and trends; embed advanced forensic tools and techniques for attack reconstruction; provide engineering recommendations, and resolve integration and testing issues
- Assess and mitigate system security threats/risks throughout the program life cycle
- Contribute to the security planning, assessment, risk analysis, risk management, certification and awareness activities for system and networking operations
- Ensure system security needs are established and maintained for operations development, security requirements definition, security risk assessment, systems analysis, systems design, security test and evaluation, certification and accreditation, systems hardening, vulnerability, testing and scanning, incident response, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning; and provides analytical support for security policy development and analysis
- May interface with external entities including law enforcement, intelligence and other government organizations and agencies
Required Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance
- BA/BS Degree
- 10+ years of Cyber Security Systems Engineering experience
- DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (CompTIA Security+ ce)
- Experience with Nessus / Security Center
- STIG/SCAP compliance scanning and implementation experience
- Experience with HBSS (ePolicy Orchestrator 5.3, McAfee Antivirus, HIPS, Policy Auditor, RSD)
- Splunk or equivalent SEIM / Log Aggregation experience
- Strong Linux skills
- Familiar with IR testing/plans
- Understanding of networking, subnetting, firewalls, NAT, ACL's, etc
- Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, fast-paced, growth-focused environment
Desired Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- HBSS Administrator training from the DoD
- Familiarity with FedRAMP, RMF, and eMASS a plus
The likely salary range for this position is $96,000 - $144,000, this is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
