Linux Administrator - Military Veterans

We are seeking motivated, career and customer oriented Linux Administrators interested in joining our team in Chantilly, VA and exploring an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitoring systems and applications for server and application health

• Performing backups and restores of systems, servers and databases

• Building Linux, JBOSS and SQL virtual servers

• Installing application upgrades including document reviews for accuracy

• Installing OS and application patches

• Troubleshooting issues from the hardware through application level as required on Linux, and SQL systems

• Providing input to and leading new projects

• Defining and documenting process

• Mentoring and training junior level engineers

• Resolving and processing multiple level customer requests via ticketing system

• Hardening of all systems to meet security standards

Technical background:

• Must have a minimum of 8 years relevant experience and a bachelor's degree
• Must have 5-7 years experience with Linux in a VMWare environment including server builds
• Must have at least 5 years experience supporting production systems in a multiple shift or 24x7 environment 
• Must have at least 5 years experience supporting server including storage and backup systems for Linux on Vmware and also Solaris/Oracle/Sun system hardware 
• Must have experience supporting multiple applications and systems in a complex production environment for a government customer 
• Experience with UNIX and LINUX (RHEL) and JBOSS 
• Must have experience with backup technologies and systems 
• Must have experience working with virtual servers 
• Must have experience with addressing security issues & security hardening

US citizenship is required. Candidate must be able to hold and maintain a NACI Minimum Background Investigation Public Trust clearance.
