Software Engineer - Military Veterans

We are seeking motivated, career and customer oriented Software Engineers, interested in joining our team in Hampton, VA and exploring an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

The Software Engineers on the Langley Simulation and Aircraft Technical Services contract design, develop, test, and operate air and space vehicle simulations in object-oriented C++, including graphics programming using OpenSceneGraph and OpenGL. The primary development environment is on Linux platforms using the Scientific Linux operating system, although some development is performed for a Windows platform.   The Software Engineer will design, develop, modify, and maintain simulation software using software engineering best practices and standards, participate in design and code reviews, and adhere to existing processes and procedures for full life-cycle software development. This organization is also a software supplier for flight tests where software tested in the simulation environment is used for research projects in flight on NASA Langley’s manned and unmanned aircraft. The simulation facility consists of a six-degree-of-freedom motion base, four full-sized simulator cockpits, two fighter cockpits inside 40-foot diameter spheres, and a multi-purpose re-configurable test and evaluation simulator.

Education/Experience:  Bachelor's degree and 1 year of related work experience.
