SW Engineer - Military Veterans

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Software Engineer to join our team in Hampton, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems. The Software Engineers on the Simulation and Aircraft Services contract design, develop, test, and operate air and space vehicle simulations in object-oriented C++, including graphics programming using OpenSceneGraph and OpenGL. The primary development environment is on Linux platforms using the Scientific Linux operating system, although some development is performed for a Windows platform.   The Software Engineer will design, develop, modify, and maintain simulation software using software engineering best practices and standards, participate in design and code reviews, and adhere to existing processes and procedures for full life-cycle software development. This organization is also a software supplier for flight tests where software tested in the simulation environment is used for research projects in flight on NASA Langley’s manned and unmanned aircraft. The simulation facility consists of a six-degree-of-freedom motion base, four full-sized simulator cockpits, and a multi-purpose re-configurable test and evaluation simulator.
 
Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities

• Models and applies software engineering methods and techniques to the design, development, integration, qualification and/or support of the products and tools within one or more areas of expertise.
• Works independently or cooperatively as a member of a team. 
• Often assumes technical and project leadership roles.

Position Requirements:

• U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
• Education/Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in Computer  Engineering/Computer Science, Mathematics, Aeronautical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or related degree and minimu 3 years of relevant work experience.
