Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented SharePoint Adminisrator to join our team in St. Louis or Kansas City, MO to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

General Duties

From a knowledge perspective, the SharePoint Architect/Administrator must have the following:

  • An advanced level of understanding of Windows operating system and hardware with basic server administration skills to include service packs and hot fixes.
  • General knowledge of networking – IP, DNS, Load Balancing as well as the concepts of Availability, Scalability, and Maintainability. This person should also understand firewalls, encryption and security zones.
  • An advanced understanding of Internet Information Server (IIS) and the basic operation of websites, Application Pools, IIS Administration, Ports, SSL Certifications (security certificates and wildcard certificates)
  • General knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server ‐ Basic operation, tuning, transaction log selection, backup and recovery, and maintenance planning. Since SharePoint is completely supported by a Microsoft SQL Server database, the SharePoint Architect/Administrator is expected to be knowledgeable at the database level.
  • An advanced level of understanding of SharePoint Central Administration, STSADM command command‐line administration tool for SharePoint IMPORT / EXPORT and BACKUP / RESTORE tasks, and the PowerShell administration modules.
  • SharePoint troubleshooting, event log administration, search administration troubleshooting and migration tasks with the concepts of a farm and the planning and implementation skills to implement Service Packs and Cumulative Updates.
  • Debugging skills and techniques for each of these areas identified above – troubleshooting issues can occur within or across one‐to‐many of these areas.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

 

Responsible for SharePoint Operations to include the following:

  • Upgrade and Migration
  • Topology and Services
  • Security Configuration
  • Logging and Reporting
  • Global Configuration
  • Backup and Restore
  • Data Configuration

 

Responsible for Backing up the whole SharePoint environment to include the following:

  • SQL Server Backup (Shared with SQL Admin)
  • SharePoint Backup

 

Responsible for the providing input on the acquisition of the products to support the SharePoint architecture and have the ability to install and maintain the SharePoint hardware infrastructure.

  • Provide day‐to‐day operations support to Portal Team
  • Review existing SharePoint infrastructure setup & develop best practices and input on operational guidelines
  • Install software to supports the environment
  • Install operating system & security updates
  • Install operating system updates, upgrades patches, and service packs
  • Maintain system, application, security and SharePoint, IIS event logs
  • Maintain registry settings and environmental settings.
  • Manage Network Load Balancing
  • Responsible for all Site collections on a web application

Responsible for taking charge by providing input to a team with solid recommendations for an architectural SharePoint solution; maximizing usability and enhancing user effectiveness and readiness

  • Connect with SharePoint Designer
  • Change images, CSS, Master pages and layouts (drafts only)
  • User Interface responsibilities

 

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in a related discipline and 10 years experience or equivalent.
  • Proficient SharePoint skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to deal with people in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Ability to interface with senior management, clients and staff.
  • Ability to multi‐task and manage workload and deliverables under varying timelines.
  • Possess strict attention to detail with strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Outlook
