We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Quality Manager to join our team in Washington, DC to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

The DOT Quality Manager will be located in Washington, DC and responsible for quality planning and quality assurance across a broad range of services through the full engagement lifecycle, including infrastructure engineering and operations, endpoint engineering, data center operations and application hosting, Network Operations Center (NOC), Security Operations Center (SOC), cloud adoption and management, and configuration management. Manage a team of associates, including their training, development, performance and career path. Advocate and model a strong focus on performance management, development, career growth, engagement, and diversity within the practice. Function as a quality subject matter expert. Communicate in an open, candid, clear, complete and consistent manner. Listen well and give full attention when others are speaking. Demonstrate maturity, self-confidence and self-control in formal and informal interactions. 

 

The Quality Manager will lead a team that provides operational quality support to the concurrent activities of multiple engagement teams. The team develops and implements quality control methodologies to ensure compliance with quality assurance standards, guidelines, and procedures in a large computer-based organization. Develops and defines major and minor characteristics of quality including quality metrics and scoring parameters and determines requisite quality control resources for an actual TO. Establishes and maintains a process for evaluating hardware, software, and associated documentation and/or assists in the evaluation. Conducts and/or participates in formal and informal reviews at pre-determined points throughout the development life cycle.

 

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Experience establishing a quality management organization, including policy, process, and procedures for large IT services programs.
  • Experienced in SLA management
  • Experience with metrics based, data driven quality management
  • Experience leading quality audits, root cause analysis, and continuous processes improvement
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certified; ITIL Expert certified
  • Significant experience with large and complex IT programs
  • Ability to coordinate appropriate support from across the organization, including project and program management, account leadership, and client stakeholders
  • Experience supporting the development of winning proposals and associated services and solutions in the Federal Government marketplace
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the demonstrated ability to gain the confidence, respect and trust of your team as well as of senior executives in Government
  • Ability to work effectively with partners and peers
  • High degree of intelligence with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong reputation for fairness, dependability and adherence to high ethical standards
  • Relevant certifications in quality planning and management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

 

 

Requirements

Skills:

  • Experience with IT operational procedures, processes, and automation technologies
  • Experience with IT Service Management (ITSM) and Service Desk operations
  • Experience with End User support
  • Experience with infrastructure (server, storage, network, security) operations
  • Experience with cloud infrastructures and cloud-based service delivery
  • Working knowledge of Agile application development environments as well as multi-modal environments (Agile and Waterfall)
  • Working knowledge of DevOps
  • Direct experience with Department of Transportation
  • Active in Government/Industry partnership organizations, such as AFCEA, AFFIRM, ACT/IAC or TechAmerica

Position Requirements:

  • Fourteen years’ experience in the IT industry with at least ten years’ experience leading quality program delivery within the Federal Government. This includes significant experience with large enterprise modernization and maintenance programs.
  • Experience managing large and diverse teams
  • Bachelors of Science degree or higher in a related discipline
