Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented PMO Director to join our team in Washington, DC to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

Overall responsibility for the successful organization and management of the Program Management Office for a large IT Shared Services Federal account. This position oversees the following program areas: Program and Project Management, Asset Management, Quality Management, Service Level Management, Issue and Risk Management, Continuous Improvement, Organizational Change Management and all program and project level reporting.  This position is responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of business-critical functions as it pertains to resourcing, managing, monitoring, communicating, and escalating as appropriate in support of the above program areas.  This position is also responsible for collaborating with the account leadership and the client to ensure that PMO services are aligned to the Agency's strategic plans, have business sponsorship, and have measureable benefits.

 

Responsibilities for the PMO Director include:

•Contribute to, monitor and ensure adherence to PM Best Practices & Tools
•Identify opportunities for specific methodology and process improvements.  Collaborate with stakeholders to design a solution, execution and rollout changes
•Facilitate PM Knowledge Sharing
•Manage initiatives to standardize processes & Tools across the Account
•Liaison with Infrastructure Operations and End User Services for PM Process improvement and Best Practices changes
•Hiring and recruiting high potential, high performing staff
•Manage, Mentor and Coach PMO resources
•Prepare materials and facilitate Program Status Review meetings
•Ensure consistency across PMs
•Coordinate, contribute to, and participate in PMO governance to include status reviews , quality assurance, change control, and strategic planning
•Facilitate and lead Project Review processes for practice
•Conduct formal and informal Risk Reviews
•Monitor all project budget allocations across the portfolio and hold PMs accountable for taking actions

•Strong business acumen and understanding of consulting business.
•Exhibit strong leadership skills including: coaching, developing a diverse work force, instilling commitment to quality and excellence, encouraging collaboration, promoting the flow of information among all participants, demonstrating adeptness at conflict resolution and providing clear direction on how to meet goals.

Requirements

•Master's Degree and 10 years of relevant experience
•PMP and ITIL Foundations certified
• Experience in PMBOK and Agile methodologies
•Project Management experience 5 to 10 years
•PMO Management experience 1 to 5 years
•Industry experience 5 - 10 years
People Management experience 3 to 5 years
•Experience managing in an IT Operations environment desired
• US Citizenship
