Position Summary / Responsibilities:

 

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Information Assurance Engineer to join our team in at Edwards AFB, CA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

As a member of our diverse team, you’ll gain valuable career-enhancing experience as we support the design, development, testing, implementation, training, and maintenance of our federal government’s critical systems.


Position Description:

  • Experience in accreditation and assuring systems are compliant with all required DoD security controls
  • Ability to review system configurations to ensure they are in accordance with DoD hardening guidelines
  • Experience in reviewing proposed change requests related to system design / configuration and perform security impact analysi.
  • Experience in reviewing monthly vulnerability scan reports and tracking and addressing weaknesses in POA&Ms as needed
  • Excellent knowledge of NIST 800 Special Publications, Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS) and other significant federal regulations
  • Minimum of 5 years’ specific experience with FISMA, NIST 800-53, NIST RMF
  • Conduct formal A&A efforts such as A&A Documentation Preparation, and A&A Testing for both legacy and new systems in accordance with all DoD security requirements
  • Develop and maintain NIST 800-18 compliant system security plans (SSP’s), and Security Assessment Plan/Report (SAP/SAR)
  • Support periodic security vulnerability scans and penetration testing based on DoD standards

Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Some lifting of up to 50 lbs. will be required. 

     

  • Knowledge of Win7/10, Windows Server 2008/2012
  • Knowledgeable in DOD network security procedures, best practices, and implementation of Security Technical Implementation Guides.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to state messages in a clear and concise manner over any form of communication.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and re-prioritize work in a fast paced environment
  • Senior level of experience in engineering secure IT systems, as well as working knowledge of current technologies.
  • Ability to learn an application environment in order to update or create supported security documentation.
  • U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field & minimum of 8 years of experience or equivalent.
  • Must be able to favorably pass government background investigation
  • Minimum of 2-4 years’ specific experience with NIST 800-53 policies
  • Interim Secret security clearance required to start - Security+ certification or ability to certify quickly within 30 days of hiring, CISSP preferred
  • Possession of a valid driver's license
