Summary / Description

We are seeking motivated, career and customer oriented Functional Specialists interested in joining our team in Springfield, VA and exploring an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

The Systems Engineering & Integration for the National Systems for Geospatial-Intelligence (NSG) program delivers full life-cycle systems integration and engineering services to the missions of its customer. This program is chartered to provide technical leadership for many of NGA’s highest priorities, including CIO-T GEOINT Services Division. Their primary mission is to expose authoritative content and services to GEOINT customers.  The GEOINT Services Systems Engineer will have demonstrated  experience integrating new systems and services  within the GEOINT enterprise or other applicable NSG or IC domain Services. In addition, the Systems Engineer will lead enterprise solution efforts and provide guidance, consultation, facilitation and thought leadership based on expertise in engineering and next-generation technology; policies associated with Government to Government (G2G), Government to Customer (G2C) and B2G (Business to Government) service level agreements; enterprise technology planning; use case analysis; and business management.

Tasks Include:
• Formulate and translate user or functional requirements and mission needs into technical terminology and specifications captured in a capability roadmap and/or a SAFe/agile architectural runway  
• Document the GEOINT Services IOC and FOC in the context of Amazon Web Service  capabilities and IC ITE to include interim (hybrid) solutions
• Facilitate developing roadmap capabilities, initiative activities, and engineering and  integration sessions with customer stakeholders, industry, and contractor support personnel consistent with the agency’s vision and mission capability requirements including aligning investments
• Develop enterprise principles, strategies, and methodologies that support solutions aligned with portfolio initiatives
• Assist in planning and conducting assessments to identify effective GEOINT Services, key workflows and ways to improve capabilities and services
• Use results of assessments to develop strategies that improve GEOINT Services activities to include working with key NGA organizations and stakeholders to change/update processes, policies, SOPs, and CONOPs
• Identify measures and actions required to achieve GEOINT Services strategy and track/report results
• Identify system infrastructure and architectural considerations or requirements necessary to support GEOINT Services online capabilities
• Develop and maintain cloud-native assessment criteria that ensure compliance with the GEOINT Service vision and principles
• Recommend ways to integrate online pieces of work across NGA to identify dependencies, overlap, and risk

Requirements

Required Qualifications:
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
• 15+ years in Systems Engineering or related field and 10-15 years of recent agency specific experience.
• Relevant SE&I (INCOSE), IT (ITIL), IA (CISSP) and Agile SE&I-related certs and proficiency
• 4+ years’ experience with IC, NSG or NGA operations (including mission partners)
• 2 years of experience with Amazon Web Services and knowledge of/experience with AWS and IC ITE C2S
• At least 2 years of experience with third party hosting
• Knowledge of the managed service provider construct and enabling technologies including APIs and SLAs
• Knowledge of portfolio management practices, tools/capabilities and processes
• Demonstrated experience leading teams developing/integrating architecture models across the capability, operational, and solution domains to include both structured (functional decomposition) and object techniques
• Excellent facilitation, oral presentation, and writing skills to include architecture model development
• Ability to work independently within a team, and/or lead a team of engineers

Desirable Qualifications:
• MS in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
• 3+ years’ experience working with DoD Services (USAF, USN desired) & combatant commands
• Working knowledge of agile engineering principles, Scrum agile, or SAFe Agile methodologies
• Knowledge of the NGA acquisition process and RFC process to include RFC preparation
• Experience in End to End performance analysis
