In this position you will be:

  • Supporting a system modernization effort that encompasses modernizing/standing up a Linux platform, and development of a new application. 
  • Responsible for effective installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. 
  • Focus on improving the stability and performance of the system, maintaining and improving the security posture of the systems, continuous monitoring of system health, and troubleshooting issues that arise. 
  • Working collaboratively with the software development team, DevOps support team, automated test engineers, IA staff, program management and software architects.
  • Perform Production operations and support the evolution of the modernized system platform
  • Responsible for installing, configuring and maintaining the development, test, and pre-production environments.
  • Develop the operations capability for the production deployment for the modernized system. 
  • Engineering of systems administration-related solutions for various project and operational needs. 
  • Install new/rebuild existing servers, and VMs and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements. 
  • Install and configure systems that support infrastructure and/or proof-of-concept or technical spike activities. 
  • Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures. 
  • Contribute to, maintain and document system standards. 
  • Contribute to and maintain security posture of the system in accordance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides, CTOs and IAVM policies. 
  • Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. 

Requirements

Required Skills, Experience, Certifications

 

  • Red Hat, OpenShift, Ansible Experience
  • Ability to do application platform APM
  • JBOSS EAP Experience
  • Experience hardening Linux to DISA STIG
  • ACAS Experience (optional)
  • Familiarity with CND processes
  • Support hardware
  • Experience in DevOps (a plus) Operations automation 
  • VMWare Enterprise Experience (NSX a plus)
  • Putty
  • Traditional Scripting/ruby, python, , Puppet
  • DOD 8570 Certified (Security +)
  • Experience with code analyzers (a plus)
  • Docker Containers (a plus)
  • Naval Messaging experience (a plus)
  • Minmum Secret Clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree & minimum 6 years of related experience or equivalent.
