Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Scrum Master to join our team in Alexandria, VA to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

 

In this role you will:

 

Lead one or more teams within a fast-paced and complex enterprise software development environment. As the Scrum Master, you will be empowered to help guide an experienced team of software developers, build shippable product and be responsible for leading Agile best practices using Scrum. In addition to leading daily Scrum and other Agile meetings, you will also be responsible to ensure Scrum is understood and enacted, work with team(s) to solve problems and to drive continuous improvement and business owner satisfaction.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Organize and facilitate all scrum related meetings (stand-ups, retrospectives, reviews, demos, etc.).
  • Work with the team to develop project plans, roadmaps and manage backlog. Communicate team plans, report impediments for escalation, identify risks/concerns to relevant stakeholders to help resolve.
  • Monitor team backlog daily and ensure it accurately reflects the current state of the sprint.
  • Work with product owners and stakeholders to refine vision and establish goals and metrics.
  • Track and communicate team velocity and sprint progress to all affected teams and management.

Requirements

Required Skills:

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)
  • Minimum 4 years of systems engineering and project management experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business or equivalent, and a minimum 10 years of experience or equivalent blend of education and experience.
  • Strong drive to complete commitments when faced with ambiguity
  • Ability to facilitate impediment resolution in a timely, cost effective manner
  • Experience using Agile tools and methodologies
  • Experience working with software engineering teams to build dynamic web-based solutions.
  • Understanding of web development technologies (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, etc.), web services, databases and software architecture
  • Experience working through established government process in coordination with team.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills

Desired Skills:

  • Previous U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) experience
  • PMP or Masters Certificate of Project Management (CPM)
  • 5+ years of experience in Systems Analysis
  • 5+ years of experience in Client Management
