Financial Planning and Analytics, Manager/Senior - Military Veterans

Summary / Description

We are currently seeking a motivated, career and customer oriented Financial Planning and Analyticas Manager to join our team in Reston, VA, to begin an exciting and challenging career with Unisys Federal Systems.

Provides financial planning, reporting, analytics and modeling support to the FP&A Leadership Team (FP&A LT) and the US Federal Finance leader within the Unisys organization.

Drives efficiency through the FP&A organization through the use of technology and continuous process improvement.

  

Key Responsibilities/Outcomes:

  • Executes both the short and long-term enterprise-wide integrated planning process to create meaningful financial plans that guide the organization and drive for the achievement of financial and operational objectives. Drives efficiency and consistency through the process. 
  • Creates “what if” scenario models that support a deep understanding of how business decisions will impact the financial plan.
  • Creates meaningful variance analysis comparing financial results with all relevant comparison points. This includes analysis of revenue, gross margins, operating expenses, cash flows, working capital, fixed assets, etc.
  • Actively supports to the creation of strategic and tactical plans through financial modeling, reporting and a various types of analytics.
  • Independently and at the direction of the FP&A LT, creates actionable management reporting to drive a deep understanding of financial and operational performance, including through the use of key performance indicators (KPIs). Provides the Monthly Financial Reporting Packages for all global and regional business units.
  • Creates visually appealing and actionable financial presentations, including Quarterly Business Reviews. Constantly improves the quality of the presentations and the relevant content.
  • Provides financial modeling to drive an understanding of the short and long-term financial (P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow) implications for significant business decisions and/or investments. Challenges the assumptions made by the FP&A LT.
  • Constantly improves the financial and operational systems that are used in the creation of reporting, models and analytics. Ensures the highest quality data is being utilized.
  • Actively engages as part of the FP&A Center of Excellence and constantly challenges the status quo (processes, technology, models, etc.). Communicates regularly with other FP&A Center of Excellence team members.
  • Drives their respective development and identifies opportunities to learn from more senior members of the FP&A team, through direct and indirect mentoring.
  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for retrieving and using FP&A data.
  • Creates and maintains documentation for all FP&A processes and activities. Ensures cross training for all individuals and tasks.

 

 

 

 

Requirements

Key Qualifications:

  • B.A. or B.S in finance, accounting, economics or business is required. MBA or CPA would be a plus.
  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of financial modeling and business analytics techniques.
  • A process oriented mind-set with an eye for constant improvement.
  • Excitement about using the latest technologies supporting business/sales operations, financial planning, data visualization and analytics.
  • Experience working with and creating financial statements
  • Experience executing a financial planning/budgeting process and a knack for identifying ways to improve the process
  • Experience creating actionable management reporting
  • Advanced MS Excel and Powerpoint skills. MS BI experience is preferred.
  • Comfortable in a dynamic and changing organization. Embraces the opportunities that change can bring.
  • Experience actively identifying opportunities to add value to the organization without specific direction.
  • High attention to detail and a commitment to driving quality/accuracy in all activities. Keeps commitments and adheres to predefined schedules.
  • Comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization and an ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Able to operate successfully with little supervision.
