Line Leader (6241) - Military Veterans

Description

Reporting to the Production Supervisor, the Line Leader will be located at the company’s headquarters and primary manufacturing location in Plymouth Meeting, PA (Greater Philadelphia area). Line Leader ensures the line(s) run efficiently and with high safety and quality standards; leading change for business support and lean transformation in line with company focus. Coaching and teaching utilizing all the tools established this includes focus of support functions, setup, and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts informational huddle on daily production expectations
  • Ensures production lines are optimized to attain highest output
  • Review and update schedule and white board
  • Coordinate with batching and mechanics to achieve optimum setup and changeover times
  • Follow established work flow and processes
  • Accurately records and reports downtime
  • Ensure established safety protocols are followed
  • Transact production input data in a timely fashion
  • Keep work area clean by directing associates in daily housekeeping duties
  • Verify materials consumed and returned using established processes
  • Direct line associates to assist in reconciling unused components using established processes
  • Assist in monitoring and measuring performance as directed by supervision
  • Assist in identifying improvements to line performance
  • Promote a positive and productive team environment
  • Rotate crew during breaks and lunch as part of line optimization
  • Demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of the shift
  • Communicate, investigate and correct any product quality issues
  • Focus on maintaining scheduling adherence requirements, communicating issues in a timely manner
  • Assist in ensuring equipment is utilized properly and safely
  • Provide performance input to management
  • Assist in the training of new line associates
  • Provide input for process improvement/personnel development

  • Strong analytical and problem solving capabilities
  • Attention to details
  • Proven desire for continuous learning
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required, Associate’s degree or higher a plus
  • Must have effective verbal and written English communication skills
  • Must have 2+ years in a line leader/group leader/team leader role
  • Ability to work well under minimal supervision
  • Attention to details, organization ability and ability to interact well with others.
  • Must be able to operate basic hand tools
  • Understand basic math
  • Knowledge of fundamental work flow process
  • Ability to work in a chemical manufacturing plant environment
  • Ability to execute strenuous, sometimes repetitive physical work such as climbing, lifting objects up to 50 lbs. and pushing/ pulling objects
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Able work in extreme temperatures
